रुधिराक्तः स वेगेन जीवितान्तकरः शरः ।
रावणस्य हरन् प्राणान् विवेश धरणीतलम् ॥६-१११-१९॥
rudhirāktaḥ sa vegena jīvitāntakaraḥ śaraḥ |
rāvaṇasya haran prāṇān viveśa dharaṇītalam ॥6-111-19॥
Translation
Stained with blood, that life-ending arrow, taking away Ravana's life/breaths, entered the earth with speed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रक्त से सना हुआ, जीवन का अंत करने वाला वह बाण रावण के प्राणों को हरता हुआ वेग से पृथ्वी तल में समा गया।
English Commentary
The momentum of the Brahmastra is such that it exits the body after killing. Carrying Ravana's life force ('prāṇān haran') and soaked in blood, it buries itself in the earth, grounding the chaotic energy of the demon king.
हिंदी टीका
बाण इतना शक्तिशाली था कि हृदय को भेदने के बाद भी रुका नहीं, बल्कि रावण के प्राणों को अपने साथ खींचता हुआ धरती में समा गया ('विवेश धरणीतलम्')। 'रुधिराक्तः' (खून से लथपथ) होना कार्य सिद्धि का प्रमाण है।
