विसृजास्मै वधाय त्वमस्त्रं पैतामहं प्रभो ।
विनाशकालः कथितो यः सुरैः सो ऽद्य वर्तत ॥६-१११-२॥
visṛjāsmai vadhāya tvamastraṃ paitāmahaṃ prabho |
vināśakālaḥ kathito yaḥ suraiḥ so 'dya vartata ॥6-111-2॥
Translation
"O Lord! Unleash the 'Paitamaha' (Brahma) weapon for his destruction. The time for his destruction, as foretold by the gods, has arrived today."
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे प्रभो! इसके वध के लिए आप 'पैतामह' (ब्रह्मास्त्र) अस्त्र छोड़िये। देवताओं ने इसके विनाश का जो काल (समय) बताया था, वह आज आ गया है।
English Commentary
Matali specifically advises the use of the 'Paitamaha Astra' (Weapon of the Grandfather/Brahma). Since Ravana had received boons from Brahma, it is poetic justice that Brahma's own weapon is required to slay him. The reference to 'vināśakālaḥ' (time of destruction) highlights the concept of destiny; Ravana's death was preordained by the celestials for this specific moment.

मातलि विशिष्ट अस्त्र का नाम लेते हैं—'अस्त्रं पैतामहं' अर्थात ब्रह्मास्त्र। रावण को ब्रह्मा जी का वरदान था, इसलिए उनका ही अस्त्र उसके अंत का कारण बनेगा। मातलि 'विनाशकाल' की ओर संकेत करते हैं, जो यह बताता है कि रावण की मृत्यु दैवीय विधान के अनुसार एक निश्चित समय पर ही होनी थी, और वह मुहूर्त अब आ गया है।
