वदन्तं हेतुमद्वाक्यं परिमृष्टार्थनिश्चयम् ।
रामः शोकसमाविष्टमित्युवाच विभीषणम् ॥६-११२-१४॥
vadantaṃ hetumadvākyaṃ parimṛṣṭārthaniścayam |
rāmaḥ śokasamāviṣṭamityuvāca vibhīṣaṇam ॥6-112-14॥
Translation
Shri Rama spoke thus to Vibhishana, who was overwhelmed with grief, yet speaking words that were reasoned and conveyed a definitive meaning.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तर्कयुक्त वचन बोलने वाले और अर्थ का निश्चय करने में समर्थ, शोक से ग्रस्त विभीषण से श्री राम ने इस प्रकार कहा।
English Commentary
Even in deep mourning, Vibhishana's lamentation was not incoherent; it was hetumat (reasoned) and grounded in the reality of Ravana's character. Shri Rama acknowledges this clarity amidst grief. Recognizing Vibhishana's pain, Shri Rama prepares to offer solace. This transition marks the shift from emotional release to spiritual grounding, as the Lord steps in to guide his devotee back to equilibrium.

यद्यपि विभीषण शोक में डूबे थे, फिर भी उनके विलाप में 'हेतु' (तर्क) था। उन्होंने रावण के गुणों और दोषों का सही विश्लेषण किया था। श्री राम, जो परम दयालु हैं, विभीषण की स्थिति को समझते हैं। वे जानते हैं कि इस समय विभीषण को सांत्वना और धर्मोपदेश की आवश्यकता है। यहाँ श्री राम का विभीषण को संबोधित करना, भक्त वत्सलता और एक आदर्श मित्र के कर्तव्य का पालन है।
