येन सेन्द्रास्त्रयो लोकास्त्रासिता युधि धीमता ।
तस्मिन् कालसमायुक्ते न कालः परिशोचितुम् ॥६-११२-१७॥
yena sendrāstrayo lokāstrāsitā yudhi dhīmatā |
tasmin kālasamāyukte na kālaḥ pariśocitum ॥6-112-17॥
Translation
For that intelligent warrior, who in battle terrified the three worlds along with Indra, now that he has met his time (death), it is not the time to grieve.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिस बुद्धिमान (वीर) ने युद्ध में इंद्र सहित तीनों लोकों को भयभीत कर दिया था, उसके काल के अधीन (मृत्यु प्राप्त) होने पर शोक करने का यह समय नहीं है।
English Commentary
Acknowledging Ravana's terrifying prowess that shook the cosmos, Shri Rama points out the inevitability of Time (Kala). Even the mightiest, who could scare Indra, must eventually succumb to Kala. Since Ravana lived a life of immense power and has now met his destined end, prolonged grieving is futile. Shri Rama urges Vibhishana to recognize the supremacy of Time and move towards immediate duties.

श्री राम रावण की 'धीमता' (बुद्धिमत्ता/कौशल) और उसके प्रभाव को स्वीकार करते हैं। जिसने देवताओं को भी कंपा दिया हो, उसकी मृत्यु साधारण नहीं हो सकती। 'कालसमायुक्ते' का अर्थ है कि उसका समय पूरा हो गया। मृत्यु अवश्यंभावी है, और रावण जैसा महाप्रतापी भी काल से परे नहीं है। श्री राम विभीषण को कर्तव्य की ओर उन्मुख कर रहे हैं—शोक छोड़ो और और्ध्वदैहिक क्रियाओं (अंतिम संस्कार) की तैयारी करो।
