यन्न दर्पात् प्रहस्तो वा नेन्द्रजिन्नापरे जनाः ।
न कुम्भकर्णोऽतिरथो नातिकायो नरान्तकः ॥६-११२-५॥
yanna darpāt prahasto vā nendrajinnāpare janāḥ |
na kumbhakarṇo'tiratho nātikāyo narāntakaḥ ॥6-112-5॥
Translation
That outcome, which due to arrogance neither Prahasta, nor Indrajit, nor the other people, nor the mighty car-warrior Kumbhakarna, nor Atikaya, nor Narantaka could foresee.

जिस परिणाम को घमंड के कारण प्रहस्त, इंद्रजीत, अन्य लोग, अतिरथी कुम्भकर्ण, अतिकाय या नरान्तक नहीं समझ सके (वह अब सामने है)।
English Commentary
Vibhishana lists the formidable warriors of Lanka—Prahasta, Indrajit, Kumbhakarna, and others—who were blinded by 'darpa' (arrogance). Their collective might gave Ravana a false sense of security. Despite their prowess as 'atirathas' (great car-warriors), they could not avert this destiny because their foundation was unjust. It underscores that military strength and skilled generals are insufficient defenses against the consequences of Adharma (unrighteousness).

विभीषण यहाँ रावण के दरबार के उन सभी महायोद्धाओं का नाम लेते हैं जिन्होंने रावण के अहंकार को बढ़ावा दिया था या जो स्वयं शक्ति के मद में चूर थे। कुम्भकर्ण और इंद्रजीत जैसे वीरों ने भी अपने बल के अभिमान में धर्म-अधर्म के विवेक को अनदेखा किया, या वे रावण को सही मार्ग पर लाने में असमर्थ रहे। यह श्लोक सामूहिक विनाश की ओर संकेत करता है—जब राजा पथभ्रष्ट होता है, तो उसके अनुचर और रक्षक भी, चाहे वे कितने ही शक्तिशाली क्यों न हों, उस विनाश को नहीं रोक पाते।
