एवमार्ताः पतिं दृष्ट्वा रावणं निहतं भुवि ।
चुक्रुशुर्बहुधा शोकाद्भूयस्ताः पर्यदेवयन् ॥६-११३-११॥
evamārtāḥ patiṃ dṛṣṭvā rāvaṇaṃ nihataṃ bhuvi |
cukruśur bahudhā śokād bhūyastāḥ paryade v ayan ॥6-113-11॥
Translation
Beholding their husband Ravana slain on the ground, those distressed women cried out in many ways due to grief and lamented further.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार भूमि पर मारे गए पति रावण को देखकर वे आर्त स्त्रियाँ शोक के कारण अनेक प्रकार से विलाप और करुण क्रन्दन करने लगीं।
English Commentary
This verse encapsulates the beginning of the collective lamentation. The word 'Bahudha' (in many ways) suggests that each woman expressed her agony in a unique voice. This lamentation is not just a sound but the echo of the end of Lanka's golden chapter.
हिंदी टीका
यह श्लोक सामूहिक विलाप के आरम्भ को संकलित करता है। 'बहुधा' (अनेक प्रकार से) शब्द यह बताता है कि हर स्त्री अपनी पीड़ा को अलग स्वर में व्यक्त कर रही थी। विलाप यहाँ केवल शब्द नहीं, बल्कि लंका के स्वर्णिम इतिहास के अंत की गूँज है।
