एवं वदन्त्यो बहुधा रुरुदुस्तस्य ताः स्त्रियः ।
भूय एव च दुःखार्ता विलेपुश्च पुनःपुनः ॥६-११३-१७॥
evaṃ vadantyo bahudhā rurudustasya tāḥ striyaḥ |
bhūya eva ca duḥkhārtā vilepuśca punaḥpunaḥ ॥6-113-17॥
Translation
Speaking thus in various ways, those wives of his wept repeatedly and, pained by sorrow, lamented again and again.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसी अनेक बातें कहती हुई उसकी वे स्त्रियाँ बार-बार रोने लगीं और अत्यंत दुखी होकर पुनः-पुनः विलाप करने लगीं।
English Commentary
The continuity of the lamentation ('punah-punah') signifies the depth of their sorrow. It was not a fleeting grief but a wailing for the darkening of their entire future. With Ravana's death, their identity and honor had effectively perished as well.

विलाप की यह निरंतरता (पुनः पुनः) उनके शोक की गहराई को बताती है। यह केवल एक बार का दुःख नहीं था, बल्कि उनके सम्पूर्ण भविष्य के अंधकारमय होने का रुदन था। रावण की मृत्यु के साथ ही उनका अस्तित्व और सम्मान भी समाप्त हो चुका था।
