न नः स्याद् व्यसनं घोरमिदं मूलहरं महत् ।
वृत्तकामो भवेद्भ्राता रामो मित्रकुलं भवेत् ॥६-११३-२१॥
na naḥ syād vyasanaṃ ghoramidaṃ mūlaharaṃ mahat |
vṛttakāmo bhaved bhrātā rāmo mitrakulaṃ bhavet ॥6-113-21॥
Translation
Then we would not have faced this terrible, root-destroying calamity. Your brother Vibhishana would still be with you, and the family of Shri Rama would have become our allies.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तो हमें यह जड़ से उखाड़ देने वाला घोर संकट नहीं झेलना पड़ता। तुम्हारा भाई विभीषण भी तुम्हारे साथ होता और श्री राम का यह परिवार हमारा मित्र बन गया होता।
English Commentary
This verse underscores the importance of peace and diplomacy. The word 'Mulaharam' (uprooting) indicates that Lanka's foundations were now completely destroyed. Vibhishana's presence and Shri Rama's friendship would have been a boon for Lanka, which Ravana squandered. It expresses the agony of a catastrophe that could have been avoided.

यह श्लोक शांति और कूटनीति के महत्व को दर्शाता है। 'मुलहरम्' (जड़ काटने वाला) शब्द यह बताता है कि लंका अब पूरी तरह समाप्त हो चुकी थी। विभीषण का साथ होना और श्री राम की मित्रता लंका के लिए एक वरदान होती, जिसे रावण ने अपने हाथ से खो दिया। यह युद्ध के निवारण योग्य होने की पीड़ा है।
