शक्या दैवगतिर्लोके निवर्तयितुमुद्यता ।
विलेपुरेवं दीनास्ता राक्षसाधिपयोषितः ॥ ६.११३.२६ ॥ कुरर्य इव दुःखार्ता बाष्पपर्याकुलेक्षणाः ॥ ॥६-११३-२६॥

Translation
Who in this world can turn back the course of Fate when it is set in motion? Thus, those wretched wives of the Rakshasa king, their eyes flooded with tears, lamented in agony like ospreys (Kurari birds).
हिंदी अनुवाद
संसार में दैव की प्रबल गति को कौन टाल सकता है? इस प्रकार, आंसुओं से भरी आँखों वाली वे राक्षसराज की पत्नियाँ दीन होकर कुररी (क्रौंच पक्षी) की भाँति दुःख से विलाप करने लगीं।
English Commentary
The sarga concludes with the admission of the infallible power of Fate. No one can divert the 'course of Fate' ('Daivagati')—this is a final lesson of the Ramayana. Comparing the women to 'Kurari' birds (ospreys, known for their mournful cries upon losing a mate) reinforces their loneliness and helplessness. The roar of Lanka had now transitioned into a silent, piteous wail.

सर्ग का समापन दैव की अमोघ शक्ति की स्वीकारोक्ति के साथ होता है। 'दैव-गति' को कोई नहीं मोड़ सकता, यही श्री रामायण का अंतिम पाठ है। स्त्रियों की तुलना 'कुररी' पक्षी (जो अपने साथी के वियोग में करुण स्वर निकालती है) से करना उनके एकाकीपन और असहाय अवस्था को पुष्ट करता है। लंका का कोलाहल अब केवल एक शांत विलाप में बदल चुका था।
