दारुपात्राणि सर्वाणि अरणिं चोत्तरारणिम् ।
दत्त्वा तु मुसलं चान्यद्यथास्थानं विचक्षणाः ॥६-११४-१०८॥
dārupātrāṇi sarvāṇi araṇiṃ cottarāraṇim |
dattvā tu musalaṃ cānyadyathāsthānaṃ vicakṣaṇāḥ ॥6-114-108॥
Translation
The wise ones placed all the wooden vessels, the lower Arani and upper Arani, the pestle, and other things in their proper places.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विद्वानों (विचक्षणः) ने लकड़ी के सभी पात्र, अरणी (निचली लकड़ी) और उत्तरारणी (ऊपर की लकड़ी), मूसल तथा अन्य सामान यथास्थान रख दिए।
English Commentary
The 'Arani' (fire-sticks used to kindle sacred fire) are placed on the pyre. The 'vicakṣaṇāḥ' (wise/learned priests) ensure everything is placed 'yathāsthānaṃ' (in proper place). This signifies the dismantling of his ritual life alongside his physical life.
हिंदी टीका
'अरणी' वह लकड़ी है जिससे रगड़कर यज्ञ की अग्नि प्रकट की जाती है। विद्वानों ने उसे भी चिता पर रख दिया। यह जीवन चक्र की पूर्णता है—जिस अग्नि से उसने जीवन भर यज्ञ किया, वही अग्नि अब उसके शरीर को पंचतत्व में विलीन करेगी।
