मानुषाणामविषये चरतः कामरूपिणः ।
विनाशस्तव रामेण संयुगे नोपपद्यते ॥६-११४-७॥
mānuṣāṇāmaviṣaye carataḥ kāmarūpiṇaḥ |
vināśastava rāmeṇa saṃyuge nopapadyate ॥6-114-7॥
Translation
You moved in realms beyond the reach of humans and could change your form at will. Your destruction by Shri Rama in battle does not seem reasonable.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आप मनुष्यों की पहुँच से दूर विचरने वाले और इच्छानुसार रूप धारण करने वाले (कामरूपी) थे। युद्ध में श्री राम के द्वारा आपका विनाश तर्कसंगत नहीं लगता (संभव नहीं होना चाहिए था)।
English Commentary
Ravana possessed supernatural abilities (kamarupinah) and operated in dimensions inaccessible to humans. Mandodari argues that logically, a human stands no chance against such metaphysical advantages. The fact that it happened suggests to her that this was not a standard military engagement but a destined event where supernatural advantages were nullified. It implies that against the Ultimate Truth (Shri Rama), illusions and shape-shifting trickery lose their potency.

राक्षस 'मायावी' और 'कामरूपी' होते हैं, जबकि मनुष्य प्रत्यक्ष युद्ध करते हैं। मन्दोदरी जानती हैं कि रावण के पास अदृश्य होने और रूप बदलने की शक्ति थी। ऐसे योद्धा का एक पैदल चलने वाले मनुष्य के हाथों मारा जाना 'अनुपपन्न' (तर्कहीन) है। यह श्लोक सिद्ध करता है कि जब पाप का घड़ा भर जाता है, तो सारी सिद्धियाँ और मायावी शक्तियाँ भी काम नहीं आतीं। परमात्मा की इच्छा के आगे माया निरर्थक हो जाती है।
