सत्यवाक् स महाबाहो देवरे मे यदब्रवीत् ।
सोऽयं राक्षसमुख्यानां विनाशः पर्युपस्थितः ॥६-११४-७२॥
satyavāk sa mahābāho devare me yadabravīt |
so'yaṃ rākṣasamukhyānāṃ vināśaḥ paryupasthitaḥ ॥6-114-72॥
Translation
"O Mighty-armed one! What my brother-in-law (Vibhishana) said has come true. This destruction of the leading Rakshasas, (which he predicted), is now present."
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे महाबाहु! मेरे देवर (विभीषण) ने जो कहा था, वह सत्य सिद्ध हुआ। राक्षस मुख्यो का यह विनाश (जो उन्होंने बताया था) अब उपस्थित हो गया है।
English Commentary
Mandodari validates the wisdom of Vibhishana, referring to him respectfully as her brother-in-law ('devare'). She acknowledges that his warnings about the destruction of the Rakshasa race were prophetic. This highlights the tragedy of Ravana refusing wise counsel from his own kin, leading to the fulfillment of Vibhishana's ominous predictions.

मंदोदरी विभीषण की चेतावनी का स्मरण करती है। विभीषण ने रावण को बहुत पहले ही सीता को लौटाने की सलाह दी थी और कुल के विनाश की भविष्यवाणी की थी। मंदोदरी स्वीकार करती है कि विभीषण 'सत्यवाक' (सत्य बोलने वाले) थे। रावण ने अपने ही भाई की हितकारी वाणी को ठुकरा दिया था, जिसका परिणाम आज सबके सामने है।
