आत्मानमनुशोचामि त्वद्वियोगेन दुःखिता ।
सुहृदां हितकामानां न श्रुतं वचनं त्वया ॥६-११४-७६॥
ātmānamanuśocāmi tvadviyogena duḥkhitā |
suhṛdāṃ hitakāmānāṃ na śrutaṃ vacanaṃ tvayā ॥6-114-76॥
Translation
"Grieved by your separation, I mourn for myself. You did not listen to the words of friends who wished you well."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुम्हारे वियोग से दुखी होकर मैं अपने (भाग्य) के लिए शोक कर रही हूँ। तुमने हित चाहने वाले मित्रों के वचनों को नहीं सुना।
English Commentary
Mandodari shifts the focus of grief to her own plight as a widow ('ātmānamanuśocāmi'). She reiterates the tragedy of Ravana's refusal to heed good counsel. The rejection of advice from well-wishers ('suhṛdāṃ') is highlighted as a fatal flaw that led to this sorrowful separation.

मंदोदरी कहती है कि वह रावण के लिए नहीं, बल्कि अपने दुर्भाग्य के लिए रो रही है क्योंकि अब वह विधवा है। वह पुनः रावण की हठधर्मिता को याद करती है कि उसने 'हितकामानां' (भला चाहने वाले) मित्रों की बात अनसुनी कर दी। अहंकार ने उसे सुनने नहीं दिया।
