रणे शत्रुप्रहरणो हेमजालपरिष्कृतः ।
परिघो व्यवकीर्णस्ते बाणैश्छिन्नः सहस्रधा ॥६-११४-८४॥
raṇe śatrupraharaṇo hemajālapariṣkṛtaḥ |
parigho vyavakīrṇaste bāṇaiśchinnaḥ sahasradhā ॥6-114-84॥
Translation
...that Parigha, the striker of enemies in battle, adorned with a golden net, lies scattered, cut into a thousand pieces by arrows."
हिंदी अनुवाद
...रणभूमि में शत्रुओं पर प्रहार करने वाला, सोने की जालियों से सजा हुआ तुम्हारा वह परिघ, (श्री राम के) बाणों द्वारा हजारों टुकड़ों में काटकर बिखरा पड़ा है।
English Commentary
The symbol of Ravana's martial power lies shattered. The 'Parigha', once adorned with gold ('hemajālapariṣkṛtaḥ'), is now cut into thousands of pieces by Shri Rama's arrows. This visualizes the total dismantling of Ravana's strength and the vanity of his material possessions.
हिंदी टीका
रावण का वह अजेय परिघ अब 'सहस्रधा छिन्नः' (हजारों टुकड़ों में कटा हुआ) पड़ा है। यह श्री राम की शक्ति का प्रमाण है। सोने की जाली से सजा हुआ हथियार अब कबाड़ की तरह बिखरा है, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे रावण का वैभव अब नष्ट हो चुका है।
