तथागतां समुत्पत्य सपत्न्यस्ता भृशातुराः ।
पर्यवस्थापयामासुः रुदन्त्यो रुदतीं भृशम् ॥६-११४-८९॥
tathāgatāṃ samutpatya sapatnyastā bhṛśāturāḥ |
paryavasthāpayāmāsuḥ rudantyo rudatīṃ bhṛśam ॥6-114-89॥
Translation
Seeing her in that state and weeping bitterly, her co-wives, themselves extremely distressed and weeping, rushed to her and comforted/raised her up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस दशा में पहुंची हुई और अत्यंत रोती हुई उस (मंदोदरी) को देखकर, अत्यंत व्याकुल उसकी सौतों (अन्य रानियों) ने पास जाकर उसे उठाया और ढांढस बंधाया, वे स्वयं भी रो रही थीं।
English Commentary
Shared grief unites the rivals. The co-wives ('sapatnyas'), despite their own sorrow, rush to comfort the chief queen. Their collective weeping underscores the magnitude of the tragedy that has befallen the entire household. They help Mandodari recover ('paryavasthāpayāmāsuḥ').

दुःख में स्त्रियाँ एक-दूसरे का सहारा बनती हैं। रावण की अन्य पत्नियां ('सपत्न्यः'), जो स्वयं दुखी थीं, मंदोदरी को संभालने आईं। ईर्ष्या का स्थान अब साझे दुःख ने ले लिया है। वे सब मिलकर रो रही हैं, जो रनिवास के सामूहिक शोक को दर्शाता है।
