यदैव च जनस्थाने राक्षसैरभिसंवृतः ।
खरस्तव हतो भ्राता तथैवासौ न मानुषः ॥६-११४-९॥
yadaiva ca janasthāne rākṣasairabhisaṃvṛtaḥ |
kharastava hato bhrātā tathaivāsau na mānuṣaḥ ॥6-114-9॥
Translation
The very moment your brother Khara was killed in Janasthana, despite being surrounded by demons, it was evident then that he (Shri Rama) is not a human.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जब जनस्थान में बहुत से राक्षसों से घिरे होने पर भी आपके भाई खर को मार डाला गया था, तभी (सिद्ध हो गया था कि) वह (श्री राम) मनुष्य नहीं है।
English Commentary
Mandodari engages in retrospective analysis. She identifies the slaying of Khara and the 14,000 demons in Janasthana as the first undeniable proof of Shri Rama's divinity. A single warrior annihilating an army is impossible for a mere mortal. She realizes that the evidence was always there, but Ravana's arrogance blinded him to the reality that he was provoking a divine force, not a human prince.

अब मन्दोदरी पिछली घटनाओं की कड़ियाँ जोड़ रही हैं। जनस्थान में खर और दूषण सहित १४,००० राक्षसों का अकेले श्री राम द्वारा वध करना—यह पहली चेतावनी थी जिसे रावण ने अनदेखा किया। मन्दोदरी को अब स्पष्ट दिखाई दे रहा है कि वह घटना कोई संयोग नहीं थी, अपितु श्री राम की अमानवीय (दिव्य) शक्ति का प्रमाण थी। विनाश के बीजों को समय रहते न पहचानना ही रावण की भूल थी।
