इत्येवमुच्यमाना सा सशब्दं प्ररुरोद ह ।
आपयन्ती त्वभिमुखौ स्तनावास्यमुखैस्ततः ॥६-११४-९१॥
ityevamucyamānā sā saśabdaṃ praruroda ha |
āpayantī tvabhimukhau stanāvāsyamukhaistataḥ ॥6-114-91॥
Translation
Being thus addressed, she wept aloud, drenching her breasts and face with the tears flowing from her eyes.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार समझाए जाने पर वह (मंदोदरी) जोर-जोर से रोने लगी और अपने आंसुओं (के जल) से अपने स्तनों और मुख को भिगोने लगी।
English Commentary
Intellectual consolation often triggers an emotional release. Despite the philosophical words, Mandodari's grief intensifies. She weeps loudly ('saśabdaṃ'), her copious tears drenching her body. It depicts the raw, uncontrollable sorrow of a grieving widow.
हिंदी टीका
ज्ञान देने से शोक तुरंत कम नहीं होता। सांत्वना पाकर मंदोदरी का बाँध टूट गया और वह 'सशब्दं' (जोर से) रोने लगी। उसके आंसुओं की धारा इतनी तेज थी कि उसका वक्षस्थल भीग गया। यह शोक की लहर का स्वाभाविक प्रकटीकरण है।
