एष मे परमः कामो यदीमं रावणानुजम् ।
लङ्कायां सौम्य पश्येयमभिषिक्तं विबीषणम् ॥६-११५-१०॥
eṣa me paramaḥ kāmo yadīmaṃ rāvaṇānujam |
laṅkāyāṃ saumya paśyeyamabhiṣiktaṃ vibīṣaṇam ॥6-115-10॥
Translation
O gentle one! It is my supreme desire that I may see this younger brother of Ravana, Vibhishana, consecrated as the King of Lanka.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सौम्य! मेरी यह परम इच्छा है कि मैं रावण के छोटे भाई इस विभीषण को लंका के राज्य पर अभिषिक्त (राजा के रूप में) देखूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's 'supreme desire' is not to gain something for Himself, but to secure the rights of the one who sought His refuge. This highlights His selfless character. He views Vibhishana not just as a friend but as the future guardian of Lanka. After the destruction of Ravana's ego-driven line, only Vibhishana could realign the prestige of the lineage with the path of Dharma.

श्री राम की 'परम इच्छा' (परमः कामः) अपने लिए कुछ पाने की नहीं, बल्कि अपने शरणागत को उसका अधिकार दिलाने की है। यह उनके निःस्वार्थ चरित्र का परिचायक है। वे विभीषण को केवल एक मित्र नहीं, बल्कि लंका के भविष्य के रक्षक के रूप में देखते हैं। रावण के कुल का विनाश होने के बाद विभीषण ही उस कुल की प्रतिष्ठा को पुनः धर्म के मार्ग पर ला सकते थे।
