लङ्कायां रक्षसां मध्ये राजानं रामशासनात् ।
विधिना मन्त्रदृष्टेन सुहृद्गणसमावृतम् ॥६-११५-१५॥
laṅkāyāṃ rakṣasāṃ madhye rājānaṃ rāmaśāsanāt |
vidhinā mantradṛṣṭena suhṛdgaṇasamāvṛtam ॥6-115-15॥
Translation
By the command of Shri Rama, Vibhishana was made the King amidst the Rakshasas in Lanka. The consecration was performed according to the scriptural rituals and mantras, surrounded by his circle of friends.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम की आज्ञा से, राक्षसों के बीच विभीषण को लंका का राजा बनाया गया। वह अभिषेक उनके मित्रों के समूह से घिरे हुए और मन्त्रों के विधान के अनुसार किया गया।
English Commentary
The term 'Ramashasanat' (by Shri Rama’s decree) is highly significant; the source of Vibhishana’s sovereignty is Shri Rama’s resolve. The use of 'scriptural rituals and mantras' ensures that in Lanka, demonic impulses are replaced by sattvic and Vedic traditions. The presence of friends signifies the social acceptance and stability of the new King’s reign.
