अनुरागं च वीर्यं च सौमित्रेर्लक्ष्मणस्य च ।
कथयन्तो महाभागा जग्मुर्हृष्टा यथागतम् ॥६-११५-३॥
anurāgaṃ ca vīryaṃ ca saumitrer lakṣmaṇasya ca |
kathayanto mahābhāgā jagmurhṛṣṭā yathāgatam ॥6-115-3॥
Translation
Relating the devotion (toward Shri Rama) and the heroism of Lakshmana, those fortunate beings returned with joy to the places they had come from.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सुमित्रानन्दन लक्ष्मण के (श्री राम के प्रति) अनुराग और उनके पराक्रम की बातें करते हुए वे भाग्यशाली देवता हर्षित होकर वैसे ही चले गए जैसे वे आए थे।
English Commentary
The simultaneous mention of 'Anuraga' (devotion) and 'Virya' (heroism) for Shri Lakshmana defines His character. His martial skill was driven by His boundless love for His brother. The word 'Yathagatam' indicates that after the upheaval of war, the cosmos was returning to its normal state. The joy of the Gods symbolizes the restoration of universal welfare.

श्री लक्ष्मण जी के लिए 'अनुराग' और 'वीर्य' (पराक्रम) का साथ उल्लेख करना उनके चरित्र की विशेषता है। उनका युद्ध कौशल उनके भाई के प्रति अगाध प्रेम से संचालित था। 'यथागतम्' शब्द यह बताता है कि युद्ध के बाद अब सृष्टि पुनः अपनी सामान्य स्थिति में लौट रही थी। देवताओं का हर्ष लोक-कल्याण की पुनर्स्थापना का प्रतीक है।
