राघवस्तु रथं दिव्यमिन्द्रदत्तं शिखिप्रभम् ।
अनुज्ञाय महाभागो मातलिं प्रत्यपूजयत् ॥६-११५-४॥
rāghavastu rathaṃ divyamindradattaṃ śikhiprabham |
anujñāya mahābhāgo mātaliṃ pratyapūjayat ॥6-115-4॥
Translation
The highly fortunate Shri Rama permitted that divine, fire-like brilliant chariot given by Indra to depart, and He honored the charioteer Matali.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महान भाग्यशाली श्री रघुनाथ जी ने इन्द्र द्वारा दिए गए अग्नि के समान चमकते उस दिव्य रथ को विदा करने की आज्ञा दी और सारथी मातलि का पूजन (सम्मान) किया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama demonstrates His gratitude here. The chariot, described as 'Shikhiprabham' (brilliant like fire), was the primary physical instrument of His final victory. Honoring ('Pratyapujayat') Matali reflects the etiquette of a noble King who never forgets the contribution of his helpers. Shri Rama proves that He is not just an invincible warrior but also an exceedingly humble and grateful person.

श्री राम यहाँ अपनी कृतज्ञता प्रकट कर रहे हैं। 'शिखिप्रभम्' (अग्नि के समान कांति वाला) रथ उनकी अंतिम विजय का मुख्य भौतिक साधन था। मातलि का 'पूजन' करना एक श्रेष्ठ राजा के शिष्टाचार को दर्शाता है, जो अपने सहायकों के योगदान को कभी नहीं भूलता। यहाँ श्री राम ने सिद्ध कर दिया कि वे न केवल एक अजेय योद्धा हैं, बल्कि एक अत्यंत विनम्र और कृतज्ञ पुरुष भी हैं।
