लोकहिंसाविहाराणां रक्षसां कामरूपिणाम् ।
कुर्वतामपि पापानि नैव कार्यमशोभनम् ॥६-११६-४५॥
lokahiṃsāvihārāṇāṃ rakṣasāṃ kāmarūpiṇām |
kurvatāmapi pāpāni naiva kāryamaśobhanam ॥6-116-45॥
Translation
"Even if Rakshasas, who delight in harming the world and change forms at will, commit sins, one should not perform an ignoble act (retaliation)."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"लोक हिंसा में विहार (आनंद) करने वाले और इच्छानुसार रूप बदलने वाले राक्षसों द्वारा पाप किए जाने पर भी (हमें) अशोभनीय कार्य (क्रूरता) नहीं करना चाहिए।"
English Commentary
Violence is the nature of Rakshasas, but forgiveness is the nature of the noble. Sita asserts that one should not deviate from their own nature, regardless of how evil the opponent is.

राक्षसों का स्वभाव हिंसा है, पर आर्यों का स्वभाव क्षमा है। सीता जी कहती हैं कि हमें अपने स्वभाव से नहीं गिरना चाहिए, चाहे सामने वाला कितना भी बुरा क्यों न हो।
