तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा मैथिली भर्तृदेवता ।
भर्तृभक्तिव्रता साध्वी तथेति प्रत्यभाषत ॥६-११७-१२॥
tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā maithilī bhartṛdevatā |
bhartṛbhaktivratā sādhvī tatheti pratyabhāṣata ॥6-117-12॥
Translation
Hearing his words, Maithili, who regarded her husband as God and was devoted to the vow of service to her husband, the virtuous one replied, "So be it."
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनके उस वचन को सुनकर, पति को ही देवता मानने वाली, पति-भक्ति के व्रत में लीन साध्वी मैथिली ने 'तथा' (ठीक है/वैसा ही हो) ऐसा उत्तर दिया।
English Commentary
Sita suppresses her own desire to please Shri Rama. As a 'Pativrata' (one devoted to her husband), she accepts the command with the word 'Tatha' (So be it). Her compliance underscores her virtue and total surrender to Shri Rama's will.
हिंदी टीका
सीताजी का 'साध्वी' और 'भर्तृदेवता' रूप यहाँ प्रकट होता है। अपनी इच्छा को दबाकर उन्होंने पति की आज्ञा को सर्वोपरि माना। 'तथेति' (जैसा आप कहें) कहकर उन्होंने अपनी सहमति दे दी। यह भारतीय नारी के समर्पण का आदर्श है।
