सैषा युद्धगता चैव कृच्छ्रे च महति स्थिता ।
दर्शनेऽस्या न दोषः स्यान्मत्समीपे विशेषतः ॥६-११७-२८॥
saiṣā yuddhagatā caiva kṛcchre ca mahati sthitā |
darśane'syā na doṣaḥ syānmatsamīpe viśeṣataḥ ॥6-117-28॥
Translation
"She is here in the war and situated in great difficulty. There is no fault in seeing her, especially when she is near me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
'यह (सीता) युद्ध में आई हुई है और महान कष्ट में है। इसे देखने में कोई दोष नहीं है, विशेषकर जब यह मेरे समीप हो।'
English Commentary
Shri Rama applies the general rule to the specific case. Since Sita is in a war zone and under his direct protection, seeing her is not sinful. This insistence on visibility foreshadows the public Agnipariksha—Shri Rama wants the world to witness everything.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम तर्क देते हैं कि सीता मेरी उपस्थिति ('मत्समीपे') में हैं, इसलिए उन्हें देखने में किसी को पाप नहीं लगेगा। पति का संरक्षण ही स्त्री की सबसे बड़ी ओट है। श्री राम चाहते हैं कि कोई भी गोपनीयता न रहे।
