एवमुक्तो हनुमता रामो धर्मभृतां वरः ।
अगच्छत् सहसा ध्यानमीषद्बाष्पपरिप्लुतः ॥६-११७-५॥
evamukto hanumatā rāmo dharmabhṛtāṃ varaḥ |
agacchat sahasā dhyānamīṣadbāṣpapariplutaḥ ॥6-117-5॥
Translation
Addressed thus by Hanuman, Shri Rama, the best among the upholders of Dharma, suddenly went into deep thought, his eyes slightly filled with tears.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हनुमान द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, धर्मधुरंधरों में श्रेष्ठ श्रीश्री राम सहसा ध्यानमग्न हो गए और उनकी आँखों में कुछ आंसू भर आए।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's reaction is complex. He does not rush to Sita; instead, he becomes contemplative ('dhyanam'). Being the upholder of Dharma, he is likely weighing his personal love against his public duty as a king who must accept a wife who lived in another's house. The tears reveal his suppressed love, but his silence indicates the heavy burden of Rajadharma.

श्रीश्री राम की प्रतिक्रिया सामान्य प्रेमी जैसी नहीं है। वे 'धर्मभृतां वरः' (धर्म पालने वालों में श्रेष्ठ) हैं। सीता का संदेश सुनकर वे 'ध्यान' (गहरे विचार) में चले गए। उनकी आँखों में आंसू ('बाष्प') प्रेम और करुणा के प्रतीक हैं, किन्तु उनका विचारमग्न होना आने वाली कठिन परीक्षा (लोक-मर्यादा और अग्निपरीक्षा) का संकेत है।
