Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तद्गच्छ त्वभ्यनुज्ञाता यथेष्टं जनकात्मजे ।
एता दश दिशो भद्रे कार्यमस्ति न मे त्वया ॥६-११८-१८॥
tadgaccha tvabhyanujñātā yatheṣṭaṃ janakātmaje |
etā daśa diśo bhadre kāryamasti na me tvayā ॥6-118-18॥
Translation
Therefore, O Daughter of Janaka, go wherever you wish, with my permission. O Gentle Lady, these ten directions are open to you; I have no further purpose with you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे जनकनन्दिनी! इसलिए मैं तुम्हें आज्ञा देता हूँ, तुम अपनी इच्छा के अनुसार जहाँ चाहो जाओ। हे भद्रे! ये दसों दिशाएं (तुम्हारे लिए खुली) हैं; मुझे अब तुमसे कोई प्रयोजन (कार्य) नहीं है।
English Commentary
Shri Rama issues a formal dismissal. Addressing her as the daughter of Janaka, he grants her permission (abhyanujnata) to go anywhere in the ten directions. The phrase 'I have no purpose with you' signifies the severance of marital ties in the current context. He is effectively setting her free from her obligations to him, asserting that his duty was only to rescue her from captivity, not to reinstate her in his home under a cloud of suspicion.

यह 'त्याग' की घोषणा है। श्री राम सीता को 'जनकनन्दिनी' कहकर संबोधित करते हैं (पिता के कुल का स्मरण कराते हुए) और उन्हें मुक्त कर देते हैं। 'कार्यमस्ति न मे त्वया' (मुझे तुमसे कोई काम नहीं)—यह संबंध विच्छेद का वाक्य है। श्री राम उन्हें दसों दिशाओं में कहीं भी जाने की स्वतंत्रता दे रहे हैं, जो एक पति द्वारा पत्नी को दिया गया अंतिम और कठोरतम संदेश है।
