Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अद्य मे पौरुषं दृष्टमद्य मे सफलः श्रमः ।
अद्य तीर्णप्रतिज्ञत्वात् प्रभवामीह चात्मनः ॥६-११८-४॥
adya me pauruṣaṃ dṛṣṭamadya me saphalaḥ śramaḥ |
adya tīrṇapratijñatvāt prabhavāmīha cātmanaḥ ॥6-118-4॥
Translation
Today my valor has been witnessed; today my exertion has borne fruit. Today, having fulfilled my vow, I am the master of myself here.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज मेरा पौरुष देख लिया गया, आज मेरा परिश्रम सफल हुआ। आज प्रतिज्ञा पूरी हो जाने के कारण मैं यहाँ अपना (अपने मन/इन्द्रियों का) स्वामी हूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama asserts his sovereignty over himself. 'Prabhavami... atmanah' implies he is in full control of his destiny and emotions, no longer bound by the burden of an unfulfilled vow. The emphasis is on the visible validation of his prowess (paurusham drishtam). By claiming self-mastery, Shri Rama signals that his subsequent decisions regarding Sita will be made from a position of strength and detachment, not from the vulnerability of a longing husband.
हिंदी टीका
इस श्लोक में 'प्रभवामि... आत्मनः' (मैं स्वयं का स्वामी हूँ) अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इसका अर्थ है कि श्री राम अब किसी भी भावनात्मक बंधन या ऋण से मुक्त हैं। प्रतिज्ञा पूरी करके उन्होंने सिद्ध कर दिया है कि रघुकुल की रीत 'प्राण जाए पर वचन न जाए' का उन्होंने पालन किया है। यह आत्म-संतुष्टि का उद्घोष है। श्री राम यह जताना चाहते हैं कि वे अब स्वतंत्र हैं और किसी भी मोह या विवशता में निर्णय नहीं लेंगे।
