Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
न प्रमाणीकृतः पाणिर्बाल्ये बालेन पीडितः ।
मम भक्तिश्च शीलं च सर्वं ते पृष्ठतः कृतम् ॥६-११९-१६॥
na pramāṇīkṛtaḥ pāṇirbālye bālena pīḍitaḥ |
mama bhaktiśca śīlaṃ ca sarvaṃ te pṛṣṭhataḥ kṛtam ॥6-119-16॥
Translation
The hand You took in Yours during our childhood (marriage) has not been honored as proof. My devotion and my character—everything has been cast behind (forgotten) by You.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बचपन में (विवाह के समय) आपने जो मेरा हाथ पकड़ा था, उसे आपने प्रमाण नहीं माना। मेरी भक्ति और मेरा शील— इन सबको आपने पीठ पीछे कर दिया (भुला दिया)।
English Commentary
The sacred ritual of 'Panigrahana' (taking the hand in marriage) is mentioned here. Sita reminds Shri Rama of the vows taken before the fire. The word 'Balye' highlights their lifelong journey together. She is pained that her lifelong sacrifice and devotion ('Bhakti' and 'Shila') have been dismissed in an instant. This is a wife's final and most emotional grievance to her husband.

यहाँ विवाह के पवित्र संस्कार 'पाणिग्रहण' का उल्लेख है। सीता जी श्री राम को उस वचन की याद दिला रही हैं जो अग्नि के समक्ष लिया गया था। 'बाल्ये' शब्द उनकी लम्बी साथ की यात्रा को दर्शाता है। वे दुखी हैं कि उनके जीवन भर के त्याग और समर्पण (भक्ति और शील) को श्री राम ने एक क्षण में भुला दिया। यह एक पत्नी की अपने पति से अंतिम और सबसे भावुक शिकायत है।
