यथा मे हृदयं नित्यं नापसर्पति राघवात् ।
तथा लोकस्य साक्षी मां सर्वतः पातु पावकः ॥६-११९-२४॥
yathā me hṛdayaṃ nityaṃ nāpasarpati rāghavāt |
tathā lokasya sākṣī māṃ sarvataḥ pātu pāvakaḥ ॥6-119-24॥
Translation
As my heart has never turned away from Shri Rama, may the witness of the world, Agni (the Fire-god), protect me from all sides.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार मेरा हृदय कभी भी श्री रघुनाथ जी से अलग नहीं हुआ है, उसी प्रकार लोक के साक्षी अग्निदेव सब ओर से मेरी रक्षा करें।
English Commentary
This is the core mantra of Sita's vow. She stakes her life on the steadfastness of her 'heart.' Agni is addressed as 'Lokasya Sakshi' (witness of the world), as fire is the element that incinerates impurity and illuminates the pure. Her firm belief was that if her love is true, the fire would not harm her.

यह सीता जी की प्रतिज्ञा का मूल मन्त्र है। वे अपने 'हृदय' की अटलता को आधार बना रही हैं। अग्नि को 'लोकस्य साक्षी' (जगत का गवाह) कहा गया है, क्योंकि अग्नि ही वह तत्व है जो अशुद्धि को जला देता है और शुद्ध को प्रकाशित करता है। यदि उनका प्रेम सत्य है, तो अग्नि उन्हें नहीं जलाएगी—यह उनका दृढ़ विश्वास था।
