पतन्तीं संस्कृतां मन्त्रैर्वसोर्धाराभिवाध्वरे ।
ददृशुस्तां त्रयो लोका देवगन्धर्वदानवाः ॥६-११९-३३॥
patantīṃ saṃskṛtāṃ mantraīrvasōrdhārā bhivādhvarē |
dadṛśustāṃ trayō lōkā dēvagandharvadānavaḥ ॥6-119-33॥
Translation
The three worlds—Gods, Gandharvas, and Demons—saw her falling like the continuous stream of ghee (Vasordhara) consecrated by mantras in a sacrifice.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यज्ञ में मन्त्रों से पवित्र की गई 'वसोर्धारा' (घी की अटूट धारा) के समान उन्हें गिरते हुए तीनों लोकों— देवताओं, गन्धर्वों और दानवों ने देखा।
English Commentary
'Vasordhara' is a specific sacrificial ritual where a continuous stream of ghee is poured into the fire. It symbolizes Sita's unbroken and absolute character. Both Gods and Demons witnessed this, proving that the impact of this trial of truth reached both heaven and the netherworlds. The scene was the center of cosmic attention.
