मदधीनं तु यत्तन्मे हृदयं त्वयि वर्तते ।
पराधीनेषु गात्रेषु किं करिष्याम्यनीश्वरा ॥६-११९-९॥
madadhīnaṃ tu yattanme hṛdayaṃ tvayi vartate |
parādhīneṣu gātreṣu kiṃ kariṣyāmyanīśvarā ॥6-119-9॥
Translation
That which was under my control—namely my heart—remained ever devoted to You. As for my limbs which were under the control of another (as a captive), what could I, a helpless woman, have done?
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो मेरे वश में था— अर्थात मेरा हृदय— वह तो सदा आप में ही स्थित रहा। जो अंग दूसरों के वश में थे (अपहृत होने पर), उनके विषय में मुझ असहाय नारी का क्या बस था?
English Commentary
This is the strongest proof of Sita's devotion. She explains the distinction between the mind and the body. The seat of love and loyalty is the 'heart,' which was always with Shri Rama. Ravana could only capture her physical body, not her soul. The word 'Anishvara' (helpless/without power) depicts her situation where she was powerless against raw physical force.

यह सीता जी के पातिव्रत्य का सबसे सशक्त प्रमाण है। वे मन और शरीर के भेद को समझा रही हैं। प्रेम और निष्ठा का स्थान 'हृदय' है, जो सदैव श्री राम के पास था। रावण केवल उनके भौतिक शरीर को बंदी बना सका, उनकी आत्मा को नहीं। 'अनिश्वरा' (असमर्थ) शब्द उनकी उस स्थिति को दर्शाता है जहाँ शारीरिक बल के सामने वे विवश थीं।
