Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स ताम् परिषदम् कृत्स्नाम् समीक्ष्य समितिम्जयः ।
प्रबोधयामास तदा प्रहस्तम् वाहिनीपतिम् ॥६-१२-१॥
sa tāṃ pariṣadaṃ kṛtsnāṃ samīkṣya samitimarjayaḥ । pracodayāmāsa tadā prahastaṃ vāhinīpatim ॥6-12-1॥
Translation
Seeing that entire assembly gathered, the conqueror of battles (Ravana) then urged/ordered the commander-in-chief Prahasta.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस सभा (समिति) को पूरी तरह एकत्र देखकर, शत्रुओं को जीतने वाले (समितिमर्जय) रावण ने उस समय सेनापति प्रहस्त को प्रेरित किया (आदेश दिया)।
English Commentary
The twelfth canto begins with the formal commencement of the War Council. Ravana, styled as 'Samitimarjaya' (Victor in Battle), takes charge. His first act is to address Prahasta, the Commander-in-Chief, indicating that military security is his top priority before any debate.

बारहवें सर्ग का प्रारंभ सभा के गठन के साथ होता है। रावण, जिसे 'समितिमर्जय' (युद्ध जीतने वाला) कहा गया है, कार्यवाही शुरू करता है। वह सबसे पहले अपने 'आर्मी चीफ' प्रहस्त को संबोधित करता है, जो सुरक्षा और सैन्य व्यवस्था के लिए जिम्मेदार है। यह रावण की प्रशासनिक सतर्कता को दर्शाता है।
