अनुपायेन कर्माणि विपरीतानि यानि च ।
क्रियमाणानि दुष्यन्ति हवीम्ष्यप्रयतेष्विन ॥६-१२-३१॥
anupāyena karmāṇi viparītāni yāni ca । kriyamāṇāni duṣyanti havīṃṣyaprayateṣviva ॥6-12-31॥
Translation
Actions done without proper method and in the wrong order get spoiled, just like oblations offered in impure fire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जो कार्य बिना उपाय (सही विधि) के और विपरीत क्रम से किए जाते हैं, वे वैसे ही दूषित (विफल) हो जाते हैं जैसे अपवित्र अग्नि में डाली गई हवि।
English Commentary
Methodology matters. Actions must follow 'Upaya' (proper method) and order. Ravana put the cart before the horse. The simile of impure oblations ('havimshi aprayateshu') suggests that Ravana's actions, though bold, are spiritually and strategically tainted.

गलत तरीका। रावण ने 'विपरीत' क्रम अपनाया (पहले काम, फिर विचार)। कुम्भकर्ण उपमा देता है: जैसे गंदे स्थान पर हवन करने से हवि व्यर्थ जाती है, वैसे ही बिना नीति के किया गया रावण का कार्य अब उसे ही जला रहा है।
