एतच्छ्रुत्वा शुभं वाक्यं पितामहसमीरितम् ।
अङ्केनादाय वैदेहीमुत्पपात विभावसुः ॥६-१२१-१॥
etacchrutvā śubhaṃ vākyaṃ pitāmahasamīritam |
aṅkenādāya vaidehīmutpapāta vibhāvasuḥ ॥6-121-1॥
Translation
Hearing those auspicious words spoken by the Grandsire (Brahma), Vibhavasu (the Fire God) lifted Vaidehi (Sita) into his lap and rose up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पितामह (ब्रह्मा जी) द्वारा कहे गए उस शुभ वचन को सुनकर, अग्निदेव (विभावसु) ने वैदेही (सीता) को अपनी गोद में लेकर ऊपर की ओर प्रस्थान किया (वे चिता से प्रकट हुए)।
English Commentary
This marks the miraculous culmination of the Agni Pariksha. Following Brahma's revelation regarding Shri Rama's divinity, Agni (the Fire God) responds. Instead of consuming Sita, the fire serves as her throne. By lifting her into his lap (ankena adaya), Agni adopts a paternal role, validating that purity commands the elements. The fire, which destroys impurities, here elevates the immaculate Sita, signaling to the world that she is beyond the reach of destruction.

यह श्लोक अग्नि परीक्षा के परिणाम का आरंभ है। पिछले सर्ग में ब्रह्मा जी ने श्री राम को उनके दिव्य स्वरूप का स्मरण कराया था। उस सत्य को सुनने के बाद, अग्निदेव स्वयं प्रकट होते हैं। यहाँ अग्नि 'भक्षक' नहीं बल्कि 'रक्षक' और 'पिता' की भूमिका में हैं। वे सीता जी को 'अंक' (गोद) में लेकर ऐसे उठे जैसे एक पिता अपनी पुत्री को उठाता है। यह दर्शाता है कि सीता की पवित्रता ने अग्नि की दाहक शक्ति को भी स्नेह में बदल दिया।
