Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवमुक्तो महातेजा द्युतिमान् दृढविक्रमः ।
अब्रवीत्त्रिदशश्रेष्ठं रामो धर्मभृतां वरः ॥६-१२१-१२॥
evamukto mahātejā dyutimān dṛḍhavikramaḥ |
abravīttridaśaśreṣṭhaṃ rāmo dharmabhṛtāṃ varaḥ ॥6-121-12॥
Translation
Being addressed thus, the glorious, radiant Shri Rama, of firm prowess and the best among upholders of Dharma, spoke to the best of gods.

ऐसा कहे जाने पर, महातेजस्वी, कांतिमान, दृढ पराक्रमी और धर्मरक्षकों में श्रेष्ठ श्री राम ने देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ (अग्नि/उपस्थित देवों) से कहा।
English Commentary
Shri Rama is described with epithets emphasizing his strength and righteousness (dharmabhritam varah). He prepares to address the assembly of gods. This is significant because Shri Rama acts as the bridge between earthly dharma (social laws) and divine truth. He speaks not to defend himself, but to explain the rationale behind his actions to the celestial hierarchy.

श्री राम का उत्तर देने का तरीका उनके चरित्र को दर्शाता है। वे 'धर्मभृतां वरः' (धर्म को धारण करने वालों में श्रेष्ठ) हैं। वे देवताओं की आज्ञा को सिर झुकाकर स्वीकार करते हैं, लेकिन साथ ही अपनी पिछली कठोरता का कारण भी स्पष्ट करते हैं। यह संवाद श्री राम की विनम्रता और उनकी नेतृत्व क्षमता (accountability) दोनों को उजागर करता है।
