रुद्धा चान्तःपुरे गुप्ता त्वच्चित्ता त्वत्परायणा ।
रक्षिता राक्षसीभिश्च विकृतैर्घोरदर्शनैः ॥६-१२१-८॥
ruddhā cāntaḥpure guptā tvaccittā tvatparāyaṇā |
rakṣitā rākṣasībhiśca vikṛtairghoradarśanaiḥ ॥6-121-8॥
Translation
Confined in the inner apartments and guarded by hideous and terrible-looking demonesses, her mind was still fixed on you, and she remained devoted to you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
यह अंतःपुर में कैद थी, भयानक और विकृत दिखाई देने वाली राक्षसियों द्वारा रक्षित (घिरी हुई) थी, फिर भी इसका चित्त तुममें ही लगा था और यह तुम्हारे ही परायण थी।
English Commentary
Agni describes the psychological torture Sita endured. Surrounded by ghoradarshanaih (terrible-looking) guards in captivity, keeping one's sanity is a feat; keeping one's faith is a miracle. Her protection was not physical armor but her mental focus on Shri Rama (tvacchitta). Agni testifies that her internal world remained impregnable despite the external horror.

सीता की परीक्षा केवल अग्नि में नहीं, बल्कि अशोक वाटिका में भी हुई थी। अग्निदेव उस मानसिक यातना का वर्णन करते हैं—चारों ओर भयानक राक्षसियां और कैद का जीवन। ऐसी प्रतिकूल परिस्थितियों में भी 'त्वच्चित्ता' (श्री राम में मन लगाए हुए) रहना ही उनकी सबसे बड़ी तपस्या थी। यह श्लोक सीता के मानसिक संयम और एकनिष्ठ प्रेम की प्रशंसा है।
