Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कैकेय्या यानि चोक्तानि वाक्यानि वदतां वर ।
तव प्रव्राजनार्थानि स्थितानि हृदये मम ॥६-१२२-१४॥
kaikeyyā yāni coktāni vākyāni vadatāṃ vara |
tava pravrājanārthāni sthitāni hṛdaye mama ॥6-122-14॥
Translation
O best among speakers! Those words uttered by Kaikeyi for the purpose of Your exile remained fixed in my heart (like a thorn).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वक्ताओं में श्रेष्ठ! तुम्हें वन भेजने के लिए कैकेयी ने जो वचन कहे थे, वे अभी भी मेरे हृदय में (काँटे की तरह) चुभे हुए थे।
English Commentary
King Dasharatha still feels the sting of the injustice done to Shri Rama. The words 'remained fixed in my heart' depict the psychological wound inflicted by Kaikeyi's demands. Even in heaven, he was not entirely free from the regret that his helplessness forced his beloved son into exile.

राजा दशरथ को अभी भी उस अन्याय की पीड़ा है जो श्री राम के साथ हुआ था। 'स्थितानि हृदये मम' शब्द उस मानसिक घाव को दर्शाते हैं जो कैकेयी के वचनों ने दिया था। वे स्वर्ग में भी उस पछतावे से मुक्त नहीं हो पाए थे कि उनकी विवशता के कारण उनके प्रिय पुत्र को वन जाना पड़ा।
