Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
न त्वं सुभ्रु समाधेया पतिशुश्रूषणं प्रति ।
अवश्यं तु मया वाच्यमेष ते दैवतं परम् ॥६-१२२-३५॥
na tvaṃ subhru samādheyā patiśuśrūṣaṇaṃ prati |
avaśyaṃ tu mayā vācyameṣa te daivataṃ param ॥6-122-35॥
Translation
O beautiful-browed Sita! Although You need no instruction regarding the service of Your husband, I must say that this Shri Rama is Your supreme deity.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सुंदर भौंहों वाली सीता! यद्यपि तुम्हें पति-सेवा के विषय में कुछ कहने की आवश्यकता नहीं है (क्योंकि तुम स्वयं निपुण हो), फिर भी मुझे यह अवश्य कहना चाहिए कि ये श्री राम ही तुम्हारे परम देवता हैं।

Dasharatha lauds Sita's devotion to her husband. He acknowledges that no woman surpasses her in chastity. दशरथ जी सीता जी के पातिव्रत्य की सराहना करते हैं। वे जानते हैं कि सीता जी से श्रेष्ठ कोई पतिव्रता नहीं है। 'दैवतं परम्' कहना भारतीय संस्कृति के उस आदर्श को पुष्ट करता है जहाँ पति-पत्नी का सम्बन्ध आध्यात्मिक स्तर पर होता है। यह श्लोक उनके भविष्य के सुखद दांपत्य जीवन के लिए एक मंगल-आशीर्वाद है।
