आश्वास्य भरतं दीनं कौसल्यां च यशस्विनीम् ।
कैकेयीं च सुमित्रां च दृष्ट्वा लक्ष्मणमातरम् ॥६-१२२-४॥
āśvāsya bharataṃ dīnaṃ kausalyāṃ ca yaśasvinīm |
kaikeyīṃ ca sumitrāṃ ca dṛṣṭvā lakṣmaṇamātaram ॥6-122-4॥
Translation
Now, comfort the wretched Bharata and behold the illustrious Kausalya, as well as Kaikeyi and Sumitra, the mother of Lakshmana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अब आप दुखी भरत को सांत्वना दीजिये और यशस्विनी कौसल्या, कैकेयी तथा लक्ष्मण की माता सुमित्रा का दर्शन कीजिये।
English Commentary
Mahadeva redirects Shri Rama toward His familial and social duties. Describing Bharata as 'Dina' (wretched/pitiable) highlights the depth of his longing. The mention of the mothers serves as a reminder that Ayodhya awaits His return. After the fierce ('Raudra') phase of war, it is now time for the return of affection ('Vatsalya') and love.

महादेव यहाँ श्री राम को उनके पारिवारिक और सामाजिक कर्तव्यों की ओर मोड़ रहे हैं। भरत को 'दीन' कहना उनके विरह की गहराई को दर्शाता है। माताओं का उल्लेख यह याद दिलाता है कि अयोध्या उनकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही है। युद्ध के 'रौद्र' रूप के बाद अब 'वात्सल्य' और 'प्रेम' के पुनरागमन का समय है।
