Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
महादेववचः श्रुत्वा काकुत्स्थः सहलक्ष्मणः ।
विमानशिखरस्थस्य प्रणाममकरोत् पितुः ॥६-१२२-९॥
mahādevavacaḥ śrutvā kākutsthaḥ sahalakṣmaṇaḥ |
vimānaśikharasthasya praṇāmamakarot pituḥ ॥6-122-9॥
Translation
Hearing the words of Mahadeva, Shri Rama along with Lakshmana offered salutations to their father who was seated on the top of the celestial chariot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महादेव के वचनों को सुनकर लक्ष्मण सहित श्री राम ने विमान के शिखर पर बैठे अपने पिता को प्रणाम किया।
English Commentary
Guided by Shiva's instruction, the Lord (Shri Rama) bows to His earthly father. This is a marvelous display of 'Maryada' (propriety). Dasharatha's position at the top of the chariot signifies his high status and glory. Lakshmana's participation highlights the unity and shared values of the brothers.

ईश्वर (शिव) की आज्ञा पाकर भगवान (श्री राम) अपने पिता को प्रणाम कर रहे हैं। यह 'मर्यादा' का अद्भुत दर्शन है। विमान के शिखर पर दशरथ जी की उपस्थिति उनके ऊंचे स्थान और गौरव को दर्शाती है। लक्ष्मण जी का साथ होना भाईयों की एकता और संयुक्त संस्कारों का परिचायक है।
