द्विर्मया नोक्तपूर्वं हि तस्मादेतद्भविष्यति ।
समुत्थास्यन्ति हरयो ये हता युधि राक्षसैः ॥६-१२३-११॥
dvirmayā noktapūrvaṃ hi tasmādetadbhaviṣyati |
samutthāsyanti harayo ye hatā yudhi rākṣasaiḥ ॥6-123-11॥
Translation
'However, I have never spoken double (falsehood) before; therefore, this shall come to pass. The monkeys who were killed in battle by the Rakshasas shall rise up.'

परन्तु मेरे द्वारा पहले कभी दो तरह की बात (असत्य) नहीं कही गई, इसलिए ऐसा ही होगा। युद्ध में राक्षसों द्वारा जो वानर मारे गए हैं, वे उठ खड़े होंगे।
English Commentary
Indra asserts his divine integrity. 'Dvir maya na uktapurvam' means 'I have never spoken twice' (implying duality or deceit). In Vedic thought, Truth (Satya) is the foundation of divine power. Since Indra promised a boon, he is bound by his word to grant it, regardless of the difficulty. This verse confirms the resurrection, validating Shri Rama's faith in the divine promise.

यहाँ इन्द्र अपनी सत्यनिष्ठा की घोषणा करते हैं। 'द्विर्मया नोक्तपूर्वं' का अर्थ है कि उनकी वाणी में द्वंद्व या झूठ नहीं होता। देवताओं की शक्ति सत्य (सत्य-वाक) में निहित है। यद्यपि वरदान कठिन है, परन्तु वचन देने के कारण वे इसे पूरा करेंगे। यह श्लोक भारतीय संस्कृति में 'वचन' के महत्व को प्रतिपादित करता है। इन्द्र पुष्टि करते हैं कि राक्षसों द्वारा मारे गए वानर पुनः जीवित होंगे।
