ततः समुत्थिताः सर्वे सुप्त्वेव हरिपुङ्गवाः ।
बभूवुर्वानराः सर्वे किमेतदिति विस्मिताः ॥६-१२३-१६॥
tataḥ samutthitāḥ sarve suptveva haripuṅgavāḥ |
babhūvurvānarāḥ sarve kimetaditi vismitāḥ ॥6-123-16॥
Translation
Then, all those excellent monkeys rose up as if they had been sleeping. All the monkeys became amazed, wondering, 'What is this?'
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनंतर, वे सभी वानर श्रेष्ठ सोकर उठे हुए लोगों की भाँति उठ खड़े हुए। 'यह क्या हुआ?' ऐसा सोचते हुए वे सब वानर चकित हो गए।
English Commentary
The boon manifests instantly. The monkeys rise as if waking from sleep, exactly as Indra promised. Their reaction is one of bewilderment ('vismita'), asking 'Kim etad iti' (What is this?). They likely have no memory of the pain of death, only the confusion of sudden awakening. This verse captures the immediate aftermath of the miracle, transforming the battlefield from a place of death to a place of wonder.

वरदान फलित होता है। वानर 'सुप्त्वेव' (सोए हुओं की तरह) उठ खड़े होते हैं। उनकी प्रतिक्रिया आश्चर्यमिश्रित है—'किमेतदिति' (यह क्या है?)। उन्हें संभवतः यह आभास ही नहीं है कि वे मर चुके थे; उन्हें लग रहा है कि वे गहरी नींद से जागे हैं। यह दृश्य अत्यंत अद्भुत है, जहाँ युद्धभूमि श्मशान से पुनः जीवन के उत्सव में बदल जाती है। वानरों का विस्मय स्वाभाविक है।
