Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवमुक्तस्तु काकुत्स्थः प्रत्युवाच कृताञ्जलिः ।
लक्ष्मणेन सह भ्रात्रा सीतया सह भार्यया ॥६-१२३-३॥
evamuktastu kākutsthaḥ pratyuvāca kṛtāñjaliḥ |
lakṣmaṇena saha bhrātrā sītayā saha bhāryayā ॥6-123-3॥
Translation
Thus addressed, Kakutstha (Shri Rama), accompanied by his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita, replied with joined palms.
हिंदी अनुवाद
ऐसा कहे जाने पर काकुत्स्थ (श्री राम) ने अपने भाई लक्ष्मण और पत्नी सीता के साथ हाथ जोड़कर उत्तर दिया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's response exemplifies his inclusive nature. Though the boon was offered to him, the text explicitly mentions he is with his brother Lakshmana and wife Sita. This signifies the restoration of his family unit. Even as the victor, he remains 'kritanjali' (palms joined in reverence). This body language indicates that he receives divine grace not with arrogance, but with gratitude and collective participation of his closest companions who shared his tribulations.

श्री राम का उत्तर एकाकी नहीं है। श्लोक में स्पष्ट किया गया है कि वे लक्ष्मण और सीता के साथ हैं। यह 'सह-धर्मचारिणी' और भ्रातृ-प्रेम के आदर्श को प्रस्तुत करता है। कठिन समय में जो साथ थे, सुख और वरदान के समय भी श्री राम उन्हें अपने साथ रखते हैं। 'कृताञ्जलि' शब्द पुनः उनकी विनीत मुद्रा को दर्शाता है। वे वरदान मांगने में भी जल्दबाजी या अहंकार नहीं दिखाते, बल्कि पूर्ण मर्यादा का पालन करते हुए अपना पक्ष रखते हैं।
