मम हेतोः पराक्रान्ता ये गता यमसादनम् ।
ते सर्वे जीवितं प्राप्य समुत्तिष्ठन्तु वानराः ॥६-१२३-५॥
mama hetoḥ parākrāntā ye gatā yamasādanam |
te sarve jīvitaṃ prāpya samuttiṣṭhantu vānarāḥ ॥6-123-5॥
Translation
Let all those monkeys who, displaying their valor for my sake, have gone to the abode of Yama (Death), regain their lives and stand up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे हेतु पराक्रम दिखाते हुए जो भी वानर यमलोक सिधार गए हैं, वे सभी पुनर्जीवित होकर उठ खड़े हों।
English Commentary
This verse reveals the supreme magnanimity of Lord Shri Rama. Given a blank cheque by the King of Gods, Shri Rama does not ask for personal immortality or weapons. Instead, his heart bleeds for the soldiers who died for him. By saying 'mama hetoh' (for my sake), he acknowledges their sacrifice. He asks for the resurrection of the fallen Vanaras. This establishes Shri Rama as the ideal leader who values the lives of his humblest followers above his own gain.

यह श्री रामायण का एक अत्यंत मार्मिक और शिक्षाप्रद क्षण है। जब श्री राम को कुछ भी मांगने की स्वतंत्रता मिली, तो उन्होंने अपने लिए साम्राज्य या अमोघ अस्त्र नहीं मांगे। उन्होंने अपने उन सैनिकों का जीवन माँगा जिन्होंने उनके लिए प्राण दिए थे। 'मम हेतोः' (मेरे कारण) कहकर वे उस ऋण को स्वीकार करते हैं। यह एक सच्चे राजा का लक्षण है जो अपनी प्रजा और सेवकों के जीवन को अपने स्वार्थ से ऊपर रखता है। यह 'भक्तवत्सलता' का सर्वोच्च उदाहरण है।
