मत्कृते विप्रयुक्ता ये पुत्रैर्दारैश्च वानराः ।
मत्प्रियेष्वभियुक्ताश्च न मृत्युं गणयन्ति च ॥६-१२३-६॥
matkṛte viprayuktā ye putrairdāraiśca vānarāḥ |
matpriyeṣvabhiyuktāśca na mṛtyuṃ gaṇayanti ca ॥6-123-6॥
Translation
Those monkeys who were separated from their sons and wives for my sake, and who were engaged in doing what is pleasing to me, disregarding death (let them rise).
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे कार्य के लिए जो वानर अपने पुत्रों और पत्नियों से बिछड़ गए, और जो मेरा प्रिय करने में लगे रहे तथा मृत्यु की भी परवाह नहीं की (वे जीवित हो जाएँ)।
English Commentary
Shri Rama elaborates on the sacrifices made by his army. He explicitly mentions their separation from 'sons and wives', showing his deep empathy for the families awaiting the return of these warriors. He highlights their total dedication—they did not 'count death' (na mrytum ganayanti) as significant when it came to serving him. This justification serves to make the boon irrefutable; such selflessness deserves a divine reward. It portrays Shri Rama not just as a commander but as a compassionate protector.

श्री राम की करुणा यहाँ और गहरी हो जाती है। वे केवल मृत सैनिकों को नहीं देख रहे, बल्कि उनके पीछे छूटे परिवारों (पुत्र और पत्नी) की पीड़ा को भी अनुभव कर रहे हैं। वे वानरों के समर्पण को याद दिलाते हैं कि उन्होंने 'मृत्युं गणयन्ति च' (मृत्यु की भी चिंता नहीं की)। श्री राम इन्द्र को यह अहसास दिला रहे हैं कि ऐसे निस्वार्थ त्याग का पुरस्कार जीवनदान ही होना चाहिए। यह राजा श्री राम की संवेदना का परिचायक है जो हर सैनिक के परिवार का दर्द समझते हैं।
