त्यागिनं संग्रहीतारं सानुक्रोशं यशस्विनम् ।
सर्वे त्वामवगच्छन्ति ततः संबोधयाम्यहम् ॥६-१२५-८॥
tyāginaṃ saṃgrahītāraṃ sānukrośaṃ yaśasvinam |
sarve tvāmavagacchanti tataḥ saṃbodhayāmyaham ॥6-125-8॥
Translation
By doing this, everyone will recognize you as generous, a unifier of people, compassionate, and glorious; that is why I am advising you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(सेना का) सत्कार करने से सब लोग तुम्हें त्यागी (उदार), सबको साथ लेकर चलने वाला (संग्रहीता), दयालु और यशस्वी समझेंगे; इसलिए मैं तुम्हें यह सलाह दे रहा हूँ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama is teaching Vibhishana the principles of kingship (Rajdharma). A king's reputation rests on his generosity ('tyagi') and his ability to unite people ('sangrahita'). Shri Rama explains that this expenditure is actually an investment that will spread Vibhishana's fame across the worlds. Establishing a positive image is crucial for a newly anointed king.

श्री राम यहाँ विभीषण को 'राजधर्म' की शिक्षा दे रहे हैं। एक राजा की प्रतिष्ठा उसकी उदारता ('त्यागी') और सबको जोड़े रखने की क्षमता ('संग्रहीता') पर निर्भर करती है। श्री राम समझाते हैं कि यह व्यय नहीं, बल्कि निवेश है जिससे विभीषण का यश तीनों लोकों में फैलेगा। एक नव-नियुक्त राजा के लिए अपनी छवि बनाना अत्यंत आवश्यक होता है।
