Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पातयित्वा नतश्चक्षुः सर्वतो रघुनन्दनः ।
अब्रवीन्मैथिलीं सीतां रामः शशिनिभाननाम् ॥६-१२६-२॥
pātayitvā nataścakṣuḥ sarvato raghunandanaḥ |
abravīnmaithilīṃ sītāṃ rāmaḥ śaśinibhanānām ॥6-126-2॥
Translation
Casting His eyes downward and looking all around, Shri Rama, the delight of the Raghus, spoke to Sita, whose face was like the moon.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रघुनन्दन श्री राम ने नीचे की ओर दृष्टि डाली और चंद्रमा के समान मुख वाली मिथिलेश कुमारी सीता से सब ओर देखते हुए यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Shri Rama assumes the role of a guide here. He wishes to show His beloved Sita the locations where He endured the pain of separation and the hardships of war. The epithet 'Shashinibhananam' (moon-faced) for Sita signifies her regained luster and proven purity.

श्री राम यहाँ एक कुशल मार्गदर्शक की भूमिका में हैं। वे अपनी प्रिय पत्नी सीता को उन स्थानों का दर्शन कराना चाहते हैं जहाँ उन्होंने वियोग और युद्ध के कष्ट सहे थे। सीता जी के लिए 'शशिनिभाननाम्' (चंद्रमा के समान मुख वाली) विशेषण उनकी पुनः प्राप्त हुई कांति और पवित्रता का सूचक है।
