समयश्च कृतः सीते वधार्थं वालिनो मया ।
एषा सा दृश्यते पम्पा नलिनी चित्रकानना ॥६-१२६-३५॥
samayaśca kṛtaḥ sīte vadhārthaṃ vālino mayā |
eṣā sā dṛśyate pampā nalinī citrakānanā ॥6-126-35॥
Translation
O Sita! Here I made the covenant for the slaying of Vali. Behold the Pampa lake/river, full of lotuses and surrounded by wonderful forests.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सीते! यहीं मैंने बाली के वध की प्रतिज्ञा (समय) की थी। देखो, वह कमलों से भरी हुई और विचित्र वनों वाली 'पम्पा' नदी (सरोवर) दिखाई दे रही है।
English Commentary
The sight of Pampa Lake is one of the most beautiful descriptions in the Ramayana. It was here that Shri Rama sought solace from His grief and met Hanuman for the first time.

पम्पा सरोवर का दृश्य श्री रामायण के सबसे सुंदर वर्णनों में से एक है। यहीं श्री राम ने विरह की अग्नि को शांत किया था और हनुमान जी से पहली बार मिले थे।
