सोऽहम् सुराणामपि दर्पहन्ता ।
दैत्योत्तमानामपि शोककर्ता ।
कथम् नरेन्द्रत्मजयोर्न शक्तो ।
ममष्ययोः प्राकृतयोः सुवीर्यः ॥६-१५-७॥
so'haṃ surāṇāmapi darpahantā daityottamānāpi śokadātā । kathaṃ narendrātmayorna śakto manuṣyayoḥ prākṛtayoḥ suvīryaḥ ॥6-15-7॥
Translation
'I, who am the destroyer of the pride of gods and the cause of grief to the best of Daityas, how am I, possessing great valor, not capable against two ordinary human princes?'
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह मैं, जो देवताओं का दर्प (घमंड) तोड़ने वाला और उत्तम दैत्यों को भी शोक देने वाला हूँ; मनुष्यों में साधारण उन दो राजकुमारों के लिए समर्थ (शक्तिशाली) क्यों नहीं हूँ?
English Commentary
The fatal flaw in reasoning. Indrajit concludes his argument. He sees himself as the apex predator ('darpahanta' of gods). His logic fails because he categorizes Shri Rama as 'prakrita manushya' (ordinary human), blinding himself to the divine incarnation he faces.

इन्द्रजीत का निष्कर्ष। वह अपनी तुलना श्री राम-लक्ष्मण से करता है। यदि उसने सुरों और असुरों को हराया है, तो 'प्राकृत मनुष्य' (Ordinary humans) उसके लिए क्या चुनौती हैं? उसकी दृष्टि में श्री राम केवल एक मनुष्य हैं, ईश्वर नहीं। यही उसकी सबसे बड़ी भूल है।
