राघवेणाभये दत्ते सन्नता रावणानुजः ।
विभीषणो महापाज्ञो भूमिं समवलोकयन् ।
खात्पपातावनीं हृष्टो भक्तैरनुचरैः सह ॥६-१९-१॥
rāghaveṇābhaye datte saṃnato rāvaṇānujaḥ । vibhīṣaṇo mahāprājño bhūmiṃ samavalokayan ॥6-19-1॥
Translation
When safety (Abhaya) was granted by Raghava, the highly wise younger brother of Ravana, Vibhishana, bowing down and looking at the ground...
हिंदी अनुवाद
राघव (श्री राम) द्वारा अभय (दान) दिए जाने पर, महाप्राज्ञ और विनम्र रावणानुज विभीषण, पृथ्वी की ओर देखते हुए (नीचे उतरे)।
English Commentary
After receiving the 'Abhaya' (assurance of safety), Vibhishana's demeanor is described as 'samnatah' (humble/bowed). Despite being 'mahaprajna' (highly wise), he displays no arrogance. Looking at the ground signifies his deep gratitude and reverence as he transitions from a hovering alien to an accepted ally.

अभयदान की प्राप्ति के बाद विभीषण का व्यवहार 'संनतः' (विनम्र) है। 'महाप्राज्ञ' होते हुए भी, वे अहंकार रहित हैं। 'भूमिं समवलोकयन्' (जमीन देखते हुए) उतरना उनकी कृतज्ञता, संकोच और आदर का मिश्रण दर्शाता है। वे अब एक याचक नहीं, बल्कि स्वीकृत शरणागत हैं।
